You don’t have to look hard to find the next hack, scam, bug, FUD, or fake news in the crypto space. I don’t like to focus on negative stuff, however, there’s always a lesson to be learned.
Yesterday, the lead dev guy at ENS (Ethereum Name Server), Nick Johnson, reported a bug on OpenSea.io which caused him and several other traders to burn (essentially lose) over 100k worth of NFT’s.
ENS is a domain service hosted on Ethereum — it allows you to register cool names like LostAtSea.eth, which you can use instead of you sharing your long, random ETH wallet address. Cool stuff you can do with NFT’s.
This bug actually caused the burning of the first ENS domain that was ever created. That’s like burning some historic artifact in a museum! The bug has since been fixed, but wow, that’s almost 29 ETH worth that got toasted. Poof.
So what else happened in the past few days?
Binance confirmed they will support the upcoming Cardano hard fork.
Mastercard purchased a crypto intelligence company.
Standard Chartered put out a report that says BTC could hit $100k this year and puts ETH at $26k+. I’ll take it.
Max Keiser predicts a global hash war will send BTC to $500k.
Today’s Top NFTrades
Seems like it’s always the latest NFT drops (newly minted) that have been trading in the number 1 top position of the day… but not really surprised considering NFT’s are the “best thing since sliced bread” right now. Who’s wants to create a generative bread NFT collection with me? 😂 HMU.
